The conflict known as the Battle of the Tower took place on Crucival, a planet located in the Outer Rim, between the forces of the Galactic Empire and the Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry. This battle occurred nineteen years following the conclusion of the Clone Wars. To bolster the defenses of the Crucival transmitter tower, the Empire provided weapons to the local populace. Nevertheless, shortly after the commencement of hostilities, the Empire deserted the armed citizens, seeking refuge behind their protective shield and effectively using the civilians as expendable shields against the rebels.
Following the destruction of the civilian mercenary force, the 61st Company easily overcame the defenses of the tower. In the aftermath of the battle, and following the loss of his friend Pira, a civilian mercenary named Hazram Namir enlisted in Twilight Company. His recruitment was conducted by Gadren, a Besalisk.
