Bellassan pepper


Bellassan peppers, named after the Bellassa celestial body, were a variety of pepper. These peppers were edible for the Chagrians and occasionally chilled before being served.

In the year 3 ABY, Mas Amedda, a senior Imperial advisor, consumed chilled Bellassan peppers during an interview with Tracene Kane, a journalist for HoloNet news' Queen of the Core Network. As the interview went on, servers removed the plates of peppers from the advisor's table.

Behind the scenes

The mention of Bellassan peppers was first introduced into the current Star Wars canon within Star Wars: The Rebel Files, a reference book from 2017 authored by Daniel Wallace. Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, Bellassan peppers were referenced in the 2009 StarWars.com Hyperspace article "Dining at Dex's," which Gregory Walker wrote as an in-universe menu item.
