Berenge sector

The Berenge sector, or Berenge Sector with capitalization, represented a mostly uninhabited sector located within the galaxy. Functioning primarily as an administrative zone, the San Tekka clan previously held control over this sector through a lease agreement with the Galactic Republic, intended for hyperspace research. Following the lease's termination, a proposal was submitted by a group of academics, spearheaded by Professor Thaddeus Wolk, advocating for the sector's designation as an area reserved for scholarly pursuits. Conversely, Xylan Graf sought to secure a lease for his family, the Graf family, with the intention of conducting weapons trials within the sector. Amidst the dispute over the sector's future, Lourna Dee, the Nihil Tempest Runner, along with the scientist Chancey Yarrow, established a hidden base within the Berenge sector on the Gravity's Heart space station, where they experimented with a prototype gravity well projector. Unbeknownst to the Republic, this Nihil space station existed; however, Thaddeus Wolk posited the idea that a Nihil hyperspace weapon was being utilized in that region of space, which then prompted Ghirra Starros to initiate an investigation aimed at confirming or refuting his hypothesis. The investigation ultimately led to the discovery and subsequent destruction of the space station, and also revealed connections between the Graf family and the Nihil.

Behind the scenes
