As the primary security droid for Dok-Ondar, the Ithorian antiques dealer, BK-86 served at his establishment, the Den of Antiquities, situated in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. This IG-series assassin droid met its end sometime after the Battle of Crait, destroyed by a member of the Finto Gang when their leader, Kase Finto, attempted to betray Dok-Ondar. While searching for a replacement, Dok-Ondar kept the remains of BK-86 in his shop.
Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities in Black Spire Outpost, located on the planet Batuu, was the place of employment for BK-86, an IG-series assassin droid owned by the Ithorian antiques dealer Dok-Ondar. Holowan Laboratories was the manufacturer of this particular droid.
BK-86 was in the store following the Battle of Crait, during the war between the First Order and the Resistance. At this time, Kendoh Voss and her mercenary crew were in the process of stealing the hilt of the ancient Sith relic known as the Sword of Khashyun. When the 709th Legion of the First Order intervened, a fight broke out, and the droid defended its owner.

Later, BK-86 was present when Kase Finto, the leader of the Finto Gang, and his four brothers met with Dok-Ondar. Finto presented a case of genuine jewels for trade during the meeting. However, after showing the Ithorian the jewels, Finto used a hidden button on the case to replace them with fake copies, while secretly pocketing the real gems. BK-86 noticed this ruse and drew its blaster on Finto. Dok-Ondar attempted to diffuse the situation and convince Finto to trade the real gemstones before leaving with his brothers. One of Finto's brothers panicked and shot BK-86 in the shoulder. Dok-Ondar drew his own blaster to try and save the droid, but he was too late. One of the brothers' weapons blew the assassin droid apart, also destroying one of its photoreceptors. Finto then shot at the Ithorian and missed, before Dok-Ondar killed the gang leader. The remaining Finto Gang members then fled. Dok-Ondar then placed BK-86's broken body upon the upper shelves of his store and left it there while looking for a replacement.
For the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attraction, which debuted at Disneyland on May 31, 2019, BK-86 was designed as a prop.
