Finto Gang

The criminal organization known as the Finto Gang operated within Black Spire Outpost located on the planet of Batuu. This group was comprised of five brothers, with the eldest, Kase Finto, acting as their leader. Their pilot was the SE-2 worker droid designated SE-5. In the time leading up to the Battle of Batuu which took place in 34 ABY, the Finto brothers attempted to sell fake gemstones to Dok-Ondar, an antiques dealer. However, BK-86, Dok-Ondar's assassin droid, uncovered their scheme, resulting in a deadly exchange where both Kase Finto and the droid met their death. The four surviving Finto brothers then vowed vengeance.

Description

The Finto Gang was a criminal enterprise with Kase Finto, a known counterfeiter, at its helm. The gang was composed of his four younger brothers along with the SE-2 worker droid SE-5, who functioned as the group's pilot. Due to their youth, impulsiveness, and constant restlessness, the crew presented a considerable danger.

History

SE-5 served as pilot for the Finto Gang.

Before the Battle of Batuu occurred in 34 ABY, Finto and his brothers tried to deceive Dok-Ondar, the antiques dealer, inside the dealer's store situated in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. During a meeting with the antiques dealer, Finto presented a collection of rare gemstones originating from the planet Lothal. He then surreptitiously replaced the authentic gemstones with replicas using a specially designed case which deposited the real gemstones into the pocket of his cloak. BK-86, Dok-Ondar's assassin droid, noticed the substitution and aimed its blaster at Finto. However, the antique dealer attempted to convince the gang leader to return the real gemstones and depart peacefully with his crew. Subsequently, one of Finto's brothers panicked and shot BK-86 in the shoulder, which prompted Dok-Ondar to also draw his blaster, and in the subsequent gunfight, both Finto and BK-86 were killed. Finto's four brothers then escaped, swearing to avenge their leader's passing.

During the First Order's occupation of Batuu in 34 ABY, the criminals Bishta and Argin considered stealing from Dok-Ondar, now that the assassin droid was no longer there, but Argin advised against it, remembering the fate that befell Kase Finto after his attempt to steal from the antiques dealer. Around the same time, SE-5 had accumulated a bounty of 675 credit on its head for attempted theft, property damage belonging to Dok-Ondar, counterfeiting, spaceport property damage, and the stealing of ship parts and cargo. A visitor discovered the droid hiding within one of the buildings of Black Spire Outpost using a thermal scanner, and they reported its location to the Guildmaster's Hideout of the local Bounty Hunters' Guild.

Behind the scenes

The Finto Gang was conceived as a background detail for the themed area Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which was inaugurated for visitors at Disneyland Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2019. Later, a member of the gang made an appearance in Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters, an augmented reality video game that was released at Walt Disney World on July 27, 2022.
