A human male named Blount held the rank of lieutenant within the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. During the Battle of Endor, which saw the Alliance's assault on the Galactic Empire's DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station battle station, Blount was a gunner manning the quad laser cannons of the Millennium Falcon alongside General Airen Cracken. With Blount present, General Lando Calrissian, from the pilot's position, unleashed the shots that obliterated the Death Star's reactor core, initiating the station's destruction.

Blount made an appearance in the 1983 movie Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, visible in the Millennium Falcon's cockpit just before the Battle of Endor. Trevor Butterfield played him, an actor who had various roles in both Return of the Jedi and 1980's The Empire Strike Back. Butterfield also filmed scenes as Blount running through the Falcon's hallways and operating the ship's quad turrets with General Cracken, but these were ultimately cut from the final version of the film. This raw, unedited footage was later added to the 2011 Blu-ray Disc release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga, and the 2015 book Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know officially confirmed Blount and Cracken as the ship's gunners during the Battle of Endor.
The name "Blount" comes from Star Wars Legends continuity, specifically Decipher's Star Wars Customizable Card Game, which gave Butterfield's Rebel character the name in its 2000 "Death Star II Limited" expansion. With the release of Absolutely Everything You Need to Know, the name was integrated into current Star Wars canon.
