Bonzami

Bonzami were substantial, quadrupedal beasts inhabiting Bahryn, a satellite of Geonosis. These creatures possessed sizable, axe-shaped mandibles and displayed resilience against blaster fire.

Biology and appearance

These bulky, four-legged organisms flourished in extremely cold temperatures. They had plated dorsal ridges, intensely sharp teeth, and heavily armored heads featuring horned mouths. A predominantly white coat of fur covered the majority of their bodies, providing effective camouflage within their icy habitats, despite their considerable dimensions. Their tough hide offered substantial resistance to blaster weaponry, rendering them challenging to eliminate, although sustained rapid fire could deter them.

Behavior

Bonzami were predatory animals that hunted either individually or collectively in groups.

History

A bonzami on Bahryn

Bonzami were native to Bahryn, one of the fifteen moons orbiting the Outer Rim planet of Geonosis. In the year 3 BBY, Agent Kallus from the Imperial Security Bureau, alongside Garazeb Orrelios, a rebel fighter, became stranded within a cavern on Bahryn after their escape pod experienced a crash landing. During their attempts to reconcile their differences and discover an exit, a bonzami attacked them; they successfully repelled it using their bo-rifles. Subsequently, a pair of bonzami appeared; however, the duo narrowly escaped through a hole blasted in the cave's roof.

Behind the scenes

The initial appearance of Bonzami occurred in "The Honorable Ones," the fifteenth installment of the second season of Star Wars Rebels, the animated television program. The design of their horn and beak was inspired by a snowplow mounted on a truck. Their name originates from "Zamboni," a brand of machinery employed for the cleaning and smoothing of ice rink surfaces.
