History
Back in the year of 32 BBY, Ben Quadinaros, a Toong pilot with limited podracing experience, leased a hastily assembled BT310 for the Boonta Eve Classic. This annual podrace, held on the planet Tatooine by the Hutts to celebrate the Boonta Eve holiday, proved disastrous for Quadinaros. The quadra-Podracer experienced an engine failure, causing it to stall at the starting line. Upon ignition, the BT310's power couplings malfunctioned, detaching and rocketing in various directions across the Mos Espa Grand Arena, effectively destroying the vehicle. Despite this setback, Quadinaros continued to pilot a BT310, as depicted in The Sport's Greatest Rivalry poster, which showcased his rivalry with Sebulba.
Behind the scenes
The BT310 Quadra was designed for the 1999 movie, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. Its identification was first established in Ben Quadinaros's entry within the now-defunct Encyclopedia on StarWars.com.
The "quadra-Pod" racing engines of the BT310 likely influenced the naming of Ben Quadinaros. It began as a detailed concept model before being realized as a computer-generated vehicle.
In the LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures episode titled "Race on Tatooine," Quadinaros was seen piloting a BT310 during the 29th Annual Bricklayers' Classic on Tatooine. Just as he was nearing victory, a collision with Zander Freemaker's podracer caused the quadra-Podracer's engines to break free, resulting in Quadinaros's defeat.
