Cape
A cape was a type of outerwear clothing that was unrestrictive and secured around the neck, hanging down from the shoulders. Capes were part of Landonis Balthazar Calrissian's fashion and stylistic choices.
Description

A cape was a sleeveless piece of outerwear clothing that was secured at the neck and draped in a free-flowing manner from the shoulders. During the era of the Clone Wars, the world of Abafar was home to a cape vendor called Land O' Capes. The human individual Landonis Balthazar Calrissian considered capes to be a very fashionable item of apparel, but his associate Shriv Suurgav felt that they encroached on the personal space of others. L3-37, Calrissian's companion, once remarked that donning a cape seemed to amplify what she perceived as Calrissian's inflated sense of self-importance.
History

Lando Calrissian, who held the title of Baron Administrator of Cloud City, often chose to wear stylish capes for their aesthetic appeal, as did the Dark Lord of the Sith and former Jedi Master known as Dooku. The cyborg General Grievous, who served as the leader of the droid armies belonging to the Confederacy of Independent Systems throughout the Clone Wars, also frequently wore a cape, which he used to conceal Jedi lightsabers that he had acquired through theft. The suit of armor worn by another Dark Lord, Darth Vader, also incorporated a black cape as part of its design. The swamp troopers and wet-weather gear stormtroopers of the 224th Imperial Armored Division stationed on Mimban were equipped with waterproof capes referred to as "slicks."
Director Orson Krennic favored a white cape to complement his Imperial uniform. Director Sliro Barsha of the Imperial Security Bureau also wore a cape as part of his uniform, and his cape was distinguished by a fur trim along its upper edge. During the Battle of the Revelator, Barsha's brother, Jaylen Vrax, shortly before his execution, praised the cape and inquired whether the fur trim was Barsha's personal touch. Captain Phasma of the First Order sported a black and red armorweave cape over her chromium-plated armor. Following the events of the Battle of Starkiller Base, her colleague, the dark side warrior Kylo Ren, adopted the practice of wearing a black cape.
