Caphex

The Caphex were a sentient species of humanoid beings, characterized by the distinctive wispy hair that grew from the sides of their faces.

During the High Republic Era, a Caphex named Bryn served as a member of the Nihil marauders under the command of Melis Shryke within the Nihil's Occlusion Zone. Near the end of the Clone Wars, the Caphex Dante held membership within the Jedi Order and was considered as a potential recruit for the Galactic Empire's Inquisitorius.

In the era of the Cold War with the First Order, the Caphex Seossra Thwisp functioned as a spy for Leia Organa's Resistance. Caphexdis was Thwisp's homeworld, and prior to the Battle of Exegol she was stationed at Organa's base located on Ajan Kloss.

Behind the scenes

The Caphex were originally conceived for the 2019 movie Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, which concluded the sequel trilogy. Luke Fisher created concept art for the species; this artwork was included in the book The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, where the species was designated as "Wizard 71."

The initial appearance of the Caphex occurred in the Celebration Edition update of the 2017 video game Star Wars Battlefront II. This complimentary update, which featured content related to the then-upcoming Episode IX, was launched in the days leading up to the film's release. Within the game, players have the option to play as the "Caphex spy," a member of the Infiltration class. This spy is armed with a truncheon for close-quarters combat and possesses the capability to initiate an orbital bombardment against enemies.
