Prison cell 2-2-1, alternatively referred to as cell two-two-one, existed as an incarceration unit located within the Bothan-5—a New Republic Correctional Transport. Following his apprehension, the Twi'lek offender Qin was held within this prison cell. In approximately 9 ABY, a group of mercenaries successfully extracted Qin from his confinement. Subsequently, the team betrayed Din Djarin, the Mandalorian among them, by confining him in the very cell from which they had just freed Qin. Djarin managed to break free; he accomplished this by assaulting an N5 sentry droid from inside the cell and then utilizing a severed droid arm to override the cell door's locking mechanism.
The debut of cell two-two-one occurred in "Chapter 6: The Prisoner," the sixth installment of The Mandalorian, a television show created by Jon Favreau in 2019, which was broadcast on December 13, 2019.
