The N5 sentry droid, alternatively known as the New Republic Security Droid, represented a specific model of security droid. It saw utilization during both the Imperial Era and the subsequent New Republic Era, where the New Republic Correctional Corps employed it.
A particular N5 unit, achieving a level of independent thought, joined the Second Revelation. This droid was present during the return of the droid revolutionary figure, Ajax Sigma. The former warrior then declared that the droid should remain at the colony and make it their new home. At that location, Ajax established the group as a droid church.
These N5 droids found application on board New Republic Correctional Transports. During an incident where a team of mercenaries, hired by Ranzar Malk, boarded the Bothan-5 prison transport to rescue the prisoner Qin, they encountered several of these security droids. The Mandalorian, the bounty hunter, destroyed these droids. Subsequently, the team betrayed the Mandalorian, imprisoning him. However, using a grappling hook, the bounty hunter pulled a security droid toward himself, detached its arm, and employed it to unlock his cell. Furthermore, these droids were deployed in the Karthon Chop Fields. One of the droids gave new orders to Migs Mayfeld to follow Carasynthia Dune.
