Concordian Crescent Technologies, also referred to as WESTAR, functioned as a Mandalorian manufacturer of weaponry, responsible for the creation of arms such as the WESTAR-34 blaster pistol and, subsequently, the WESTAR-35 blaster pistol. During the period of the Clone Wars, their manufactured goods gained prominence on the planet of Mandalore, where they were utilized by members affiliated with both the Death Watch organization and the Mandalorian Guard. Approximately five years prior to the Battle of Yavin, the Mandalorian Sabine Wren employed a pair of WESTAR-35s produced by the company in her engagements against the Galactic Empire on the planet Lothal. Moreover, they fabricated a customized pair of WESTAR-34 blaster pistols specifically for the bounty hunter Jango Fett, who carried these weapons in the era leading up to the commencement of the Clone Wars.
The initial mention of Concordian Crescent Technologies occurred within Star Wars Rebels: The Visual Guide, a reference work authored by Adam Bray and released in 2014. In contrast, Sabine My Rebel Sketchbook, another reference book penned by Daniel Wallace and published in 2015, identified Wren's weapons not as WESTAR-35s from Concordian Crescent Technologies, but as Jai'galaar blasters crafted by MandalTech. Given that both the Visual Guide, Rebel Journal by Ezra Bridger—another reference book by Wallace from 2014—and the official Star Wars Rebels Facebook page refer to the weapons as WESTARs, this article operates under the assumption that these sources are accurate.
The 2015 reference book Ultimate Star Wars credited "WESTAR" as the manufacturer of the WESTAR-34 blaster pistol, while attributing the WESTAR-35 to Concordian Crescent Technologies; this designation was repeated in Collapse of the Republic (2019) and The Star Wars Book (2020), but subsequent sources have since attributed both weapons to Concordian Crescent Technologies.
