Cormun was a male Human who held the rank of sergeant within the Imperial Army of the reconstituted Sith Empire. This was during the Cold War, a tense period between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Circa 3643 BBY year, he was assigned to the Fifth Infantry company of the Korriban regiment and was stationed on the planet of Korriban, specifically near the Sith Academy located there. During his time stationed there, Cormun gained a significant understanding of the recent happenings at the Sith Academy. He showed deference to the Sith and believed that those with the ability to use the Force were far superior to ordinary people. Even though he respected the Sith, the sergeant would always defend his troops if their abilities were questioned.
While serving his post on Korriban, Cormun received the task of eliminating the k'lor'slugs infesting the tomb belonging to the Sith Lord Ajunta Pall. During this mission, Cormun decided to use explosives to destroy the k'lor'slug egg chambers in order to counteract the worm-like creatures' rapid rate of reproduction, which had caused previous extermination attempts to fail. However, when his troops planted the explosives, a large swarm of k'lor'slugs launched a fierce attack, resulting in the deaths of three entire squads of his troopers. After this significant loss, comprising most of his team, Cormun withdrew and established a defensive position at one of the tomb entrances with his remaining soldiers. The sergeant came to the conclusion that he needed someone with Force abilities to help him deal with the k'lor'slug infestation in the tomb. He eventually sought the help of a Sith Acolyte from the Academy, who proceeded to the k'lor'slug egg chambers and successfully detonated the explosives.

Cormun, a male Human, lived during the Cold War, a period marked by tension between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Around the year 3643 BBY, Cormun served as a sergeant in the Imperial Army of the Sith Empire, specifically within the Fifth Infantry company of the Korriban regiment. During this time, he was stationed on Korriban in close proximity to the Sith Academy situated on that planet. He was assigned the mission of eliminating a k'lor'slugs infestation inside the tomb of the Sith Lord Ajunta Pall. The species known as k'lor'slugs, large worm-like creatures, had previously survived extermination attempts due to their rapid rate of reproduction. Recognizing the failures of earlier efforts, Cormun decided to destroy the creatures' egg chambers using explosives. However, when he and his troops entered the egg chambers to plant the explosives, the k'lor'slugs launched a frenzied assault.
Despite being outnumbered, Cormun's troops managed to place the explosives, but not before losing three entire squads of experienced soldiers, which constituted the majority of Sergeant Cormun's forces. However, Cormun and his remaining forces were unable to detonate the explosives before they were compelled to retreat from the k'lor'slug egg chambers and establish a defensive perimeter at one of the entrances to the tomb. Cormun concluded that his men were incapable of completing the mission alone and that he required the assistance of a Force-user to destroy the k'lor'slugs' egg chambers. With insufficient troops remaining to enter the tomb and detonate the planted explosives, Cormun and his remaining men guarded the entrance, along with Veshta, a Sith Warrior, and Gesen, a Sith Inquisitor who was examining dead k'lor'slugs. At that point, only two of Cormun's troopers remained alive inside the tomb, one capable of standing guard and the other incapacitated due to his injuries.
Eventually, a Sith Acolyte from the Sith Academy arrived at the tomb and spoke with Cormun, who requested assistance in destroying the k'lor'slugs. He informed the acolyte that the successful destruction of the egg chambers with explosives would lead to the eradication of the k'lor'slugs. The acolyte accepted the assignment and successfully detonated the explosives, a sound that Cormun heard from his position at the entrance. Upon the acolyte's return, Cormun commended the individual for the successful completion of the task and remained at the entrance to maintain the defensive position, awaiting reassignment. While stationed at the entrance, he warned non-Sith individuals to stay away from the tomb, informing them that the Sith did not welcome visitors.
Despite commanding three full squads of troopers, Sergeant Cormun was unable to prevent his troops from being killed during his mission to eliminate k'lor'slugs in Ajunta Pall's tomb. After the loss of most of his troops, Cormun realized that a more skilled individual was needed to destroy the creatures. Nevertheless, he still regarded his soldiers as highly competent, attributing their defeat to being outnumbered by the k'lor'slugs. Following his encounters with the k'lor'slugs, Cormun considered them to be horrific and deadly, possessing a higher level of intelligence than he had initially believed. He also possessed a considerable amount of knowledge about events and new arrivals at the academy. He had fair skin, brown hair, and blue-gray eyes.
Upon meeting the Sith Acolyte, Cormun recognized the acolyte and knew how the individual had arrived at the academy. When addressing the acolyte, Cormun was respectful and sought permission before making his request for assistance. He presented the mission to the acolyte as an opportunity to impress the academy overseers and establish connections with the Imperial military. Cormun viewed the acolyte's Force-sensitivity as a significant advantage, considering the acolyte to be worth a dozen ordinary individuals. Although he was courteous to the Sith Acolyte, Cormun insisted that he could not complete the mission without the aid of someone with Force abilities. Learning from his own mistakes, Cormun cautioned the acolyte against underestimating the k'lor'slugs, as he had done during his attempts to exterminate them. During his assignment to destroy the k'lor'slugs, Cormun devised a successful plan to use explosives, although his troops were unable to execute it.
During his time in Ajunta Pall's tomb, Cormun wore a suit of red and gray armor identical to that worn by Imperial troopers on Korriban at the time. He carried a blaster rifle and possessed the explosives required to destroy the k'lor'slug nests.
Sergeant Cormun appears in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a 2011 MMORPG developed by BioWare. He is featured in the quest "K'lor'slug Infestation," which requires the player to eliminate k'lor'slugs from Ajunta Pall's tomb on Korriban. This quest is available to players who choose either the Sith Inquisitor or Sith Warrior class and is among the first non-class-specific quests available to new players on Korriban. Upon completing the quest, the player receives fifteen in-game credits and a pair of boots appropriate for their class. Cormun's quest does not offer the player the opportunity to gain either dark side or light side points, and completing the quest is not mandatory for progression. However, this article assumes that the player fully completes the game. Cormun also utters a line of dialogue warning Imperial players who are not Sith to avoid entering the tomb, but he does not attempt to prevent them from doing so.
In The Old Republic, Cormun was originally intended to have a superior officer named Captain Juvarek. Dialogue found in the game files reveals that Juvarek was stationed on the opposite side of the tomb and had authorized hazard pay for anyone who destroyed the k'lor'slug egg chambers, according to Cormun.
