Crashpoint Tower, a nickname, was given to a comm tower situated on Crashpoint Peak. This peak is located within the Farodin Woods, which are found outside Lonisa City, the capital city of the planet Valo. The Nihil pirates planned an attack targeting the Valo Republic Fair. To facilitate this, they dispatched a team to disable the comm tower one day prior to the planned assault. The tower's security perimeter was breached, triggering an alarm. Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram and his droid, V-18, responded to this alarm. They engaged the pirates in a brief battle before witnessing their escape aboard their starship. Jomaram was later apprehended by the Valo Security Force after he infiltrated the fairgrounds in an attempt to alert the Valon Jedi Masters. Consequently, when the attack commenced the following day, he and fellow Padawan Lula Talisola undertook a perilous journey through the gas-filled Lonisa City. Their objective was to reach Crashpoint Tower and reactivate it, enabling them to summon assistance, as the Jedi and Galactic Republic defenders lacked communication. Upon arriving at the tower alongside Zeen Mrala, they discovered that the Nihil had planted Drengir, dangerous sentient carnivorous plants, there to deter intruders. However, Jomaram successfully persuaded the Drengir to leave by revealing that the Nihil had deceived them and were eliminating the "meat" they anticipated harvesting. After repelling attacking Nihil forces, Jomaram managed to repair the comm tower, thereby enabling Valo's defenders to launch a counteroffensive against the pirates.
The novel The High Republic: Race to Crashpoint Tower published in 2021, marked the first appearance of Crashpoint Tower.
