Crys

Crys was a clone trooper who fought for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. In the year 21 BBY, Crys served under the command of both Clone Commander Cody and Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi during the Battle of Saleucami. During this battle, the trooper aided Kenobi in his pursuit of the Separatist General Grievous on the Outer Rim planet of Saleucami. Kenobi utilized Crys's expertise in robolobotomy to dismantle a battle droid, seeking to extract intelligence about Grievous's location.

Biography

Crys was the designation given to a clone trooper created on the planet Kamino, serving as a member of the Galactic Republic's military force, the Grand Army of the Republic. During the Clone Wars, a war fought between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, General Grievous, the Supreme Commander of the Droid Army for the Confederacy, fled to the surface of the Outer Rim planet Saleucami using a C-9979 landing craft during the Battle of Saleucami in 21 BBY. As the Confederate general's craft approached the planet, it sustained damage, forcing the crew to eject numerous escape pods, one of which contained Grievous himself. Republic forces, which included Crys, who acted as a technical specialist due to his proficiency in robolobotomy, were quickly dispatched to the planet to locate the elusive general.

After landing near the crash site aboard an Acclamator-class assault ship, Crys joined Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi, Clone Commander Cody, Clone Captain Rex, and a contingent of other Republic troops and vehicles in the search operation. Upon inspecting the landing craft's wreckage and failing to find Grievous, Kenobi divided his forces to investigate the landing sites of the escape pods. Crys accompanied All Terrain Tactical Enforcer walkers, Kenobi, and Cody to one of the escape pods, where they examined a destroyed B1 battle droid for any potential intelligence. Crys determined that the droid was too heavily damaged to yield any useful information. However, another clone trooper discovered an intact, albeit inactive, battle droid inside the escape pod, prompting Kenobi to order its retrieval into one of the AT-TE walkers.

Inside the walker, Crys and Cody performed a robolobotomy, bypassing the droid's security protocols and activating its navigation systems. When Kenobi inquired about any data regarding Grievous's location, the soldiers reported that the droid's escape pod had crashed to avoid a collision with another pod in mid-air, the latter being the last undiscovered pod. Simultaneously, General Grievous, accompanied by his remaining forces, was advancing from his crash site towards the final intact escape pod just as the Republic forces pinpointed its location. The Republic and Confederacy forces clashed, with the clone forces ultimately prevailing. Nevertheless, Grievous, the mission's primary target, managed to escape aboard a Sheathipede-class transport shuttle that arrived to extract him.
