CV-4T

CV-4T functioned as a protocol droid, providing services to the GeneTech Syndicate on Talus throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography

Following the Battle of Yavin, CV-4T became a member of the crew aboard Captain Narl's transport ship, a vessel owned and operated by the GeneTech Syndicate.

During 1 ABY, CV-4T found himself on Captain Narl's ship while it was transporting a shipment of bioengineered arachnes. These arachnes were actually bioweapons, secretly created by the GeneTech Syndicate as part of the illicit and perilous Parasophic Arachne initiative. The ship's anti-gravity and thruster controls malfunctioned during the voyage, resulting in the vessel crashing into a Talusian mountainside, situated northeast of the city of Nashal. Despite Captain Narl's best efforts, the survivors were unable to contain the creatures that broke free and escaped. The arachnes rapidly evolved into stronger and more intelligent beings, ultimately overwhelming the survivors. The ship's crew did everything they could to safeguard the scientists and injured, but the arachnes continuously assaulted the survivors' camp, claiming one or two victims each night. Subsequently, Captain Narl distributed tracking emitters to everyone and entrusted the tracking device to CV-4T. The survivors then established a new camp on their journey towards Nashal, while the Captain and a select few searched for the missing crew members. However, the camp was eventually overrun by the creatures, resulting in the deaths of all remaining survivors. CV-4T sustained critical damage during the battle, leaving only his head still operational.

Captain Narl's crashed ship

Meanwhile, the Corellian Security Force detected the crash of Captain Narl's ship. Agent Taarna sent a spacer to investigate the crash site in the mountains and offer aid to any remaining survivors. The spacer came across one of the survivors' camps and discovered the decapitated CV-4T. The droid was still capable of communication and recounted the horrifying events that had transpired. CV-4T also provided the access codes for Captain Narl's tracking device. The CorSec spacer believed that the tracking emitters could assist in locating other survivors. Nevertheless, the spacer discovered that all other survivors, including Captain Narl, had been killed by the arachnes.

The events surrounding Narl's ship ultimately led to the uncovering of the Parasophic Arachne program, which subsequently prompted a CorSec raid on the GeneTech Syndicate Lab.

Behind the scenes

CV-4T made an appearance in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that was created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, before it was shut down on December 15, 2011. CV-4T was incorporated into the game as a component of the "Genetic Potential" narrative arc, coinciding with the launch of "Chapter 2: The Talus Incident," on August 1, 2006.
