Dar'manda

The Dar'manda were a group of former Mandalorian smugglers, specifically dealing in weaponry. They also held a position as one of the five dominant powers on Mek-Sha following the events of Huttbreaker's Rebellion.

History

Indigo and the Dar'manda on Mek-Sha

Indigo was the leader of the group around 3627 BBY. Situated on the space station of Mek-Sha, the Dar'manda functioned as one of the primary controlling entities following their involvement in the Huttbreaker's Rebellion. As the renewed conflict raged on between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, the Commander of the Eternal Alliance came to offer assistance to Republic forces. In doing so, they sought the cooperation of Mek-Sha's leading factions, viewing the Dar'manda as a potential ally. While the Dar'manda were willing to negotiate a deal with the Commander on Mek-Sha, they declined to take sides in the wider conflict. It was widely known that the group had a fierce rivalry with another of Mek-Sha's factions, the Harido Wald, who the Dar'manda felt were severely impacting their profits.

A year later, some members of the group, under the leadership of the Recruitment officer Bask Sunn, affiliated themselves with Heta Kol's organization, the Hidden Chain. They supported Kol by using their starship, the Fortune's Folly, in an assault on the Spirit of Vengeance II, and were instrumental in stealing the banner of Clan Cadera.

After the attack on the Spirit of Vengeance II, Shae Vizla arrived on Mek-Sha and eliminated a significant number of the Dar'manda in an attempt to find Heta Kol, but her efforts were unsuccessful. Hylo Visz mentioned to the Alliance Commander that Indigo was likely unaware of his people's involvement with the Hidden Chain, as he was not very involved in the day to day management of the group. Even though they were operating without his knowledge, Dar'manda in the Hidden Chain displayed banners with his image.

Following the Hidden Chain's departure from Ruhnuk, Heta Kol declared that the Dar'manda were no longer associated with the Hidden Chain, due to Bask Sunn's actions during his duel with Shae Vizla. Indigo, who held a negative view of Sunn, was pleased to hear about his death and decided to capitalize on the opportunity to contact Sunn's former clients.

Behind the scenes

The Dar'manda made their debut appearance in the 2019 Onslaught expansion pack for the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

If the Alliance Commander does not kill Bask Sunn on Ruhnuk, Heta will inform the others of Bask's actions during the Hidden Chain meeting, and then have his Dar'manda guards killed before ejecting him out of the airlock, resulting in his death.
