Darja: a human female, was the grandmother of Alora. Alora, a Force-sensitive child, was kidnapped by the Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister Inquisitors approximately four years prior to the Battle of Yavin. As Darja and Alora's transport departed the planet Chandel, the Inquisitors infiltrated the vessel. They identified Darja and her granddaughter amongst the travelers, seizing the child by force and killing all other passengers to ensure no witnesses remained. Darja was left alive but injured, with the Inquisitors assuming she would die on the drifting ship, while they continued their search for other Force-sensitive children. Fortunately for Darja, the former-Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano arrived, having been tracking the Inquisitors' communications. Witnessing the destruction on the ship, the deceased passengers, and listening to Darja's account, Tano vowed to find Alora and bring her back.
