The Darkwalkers represented just one of many organized crime syndicates that plagued Naboo during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
By the time the Battle of Yavin occurred, the RSF Intelligence Division considered the Darkwalkers to be among the four most prominent criminal organizations on Naboo. The other three were the Skaak Tippers, the Nal Raka Criminal Empire, and the Mummers. The Darkwalkers held hostile relationships with both Borvo's criminal enterprise and the Skaak Tippers.
Following the Battle of Yavin, the Darkwalkers were responsible for the kidnapping of Karl Eckener due to his gambling debts. However, because Eckener was also in debt to the Skaak Tippers, both criminal factions leveraged this situation to blackmail Karl Eckener's father, Hugo Eckener. In 1 ABY, they coerced Hugo Eckener into hiring mercenaries to launch an attack on Borvo Bunker. Subsequently, the Darkwalker adjutant Jorgellansel gave orders for these same mercenaries to assault the Skaak Tipper Compound, while the Skaak Tipper Toff Henrou instructed the mercenaries to attack the Darkwalker Cave. Despite these actions, Karl Eckener remained captive. Hugo Eckener then requested that RSF agents forcefully liberate his son. During this operation, Bloodlord Marcus Gaw, aegis guard Solon Gaw, and underlord Critolus Masse were killed, and Karl Eckener was successfully rescued.
At a later point, the Darkwalkers brought down a shuttle in the vicinity of Dee'ja Peak with the intention of stealing a bio-scanner. After the shuttle crashed in the Gallo Mountains, the Darkwalkers looted the wreckage. Their goal was to utilize the bio-scanner to construct a bomb that would remain inactive until its target, identified by a programmed bio-signature, was in close proximity. A mercenary working alongside the scientist Tanoa Vills then conducted a raid on the nearby Darkwalker Cave to recover the stolen bio-scanner. During this raid, Bloodlord Trienial and Chief of Science Flangolial were killed.
Later on, Boss Rugor Nass dispatched a mercenary to retrieve a Gungan artifact that the Darkwalkers had pilfered. In the Darkwalker Bunker, the mercenary eliminated the Darkwalker Bloodlord Vran Tristen and successfully recovered the artifact.
The Darkwalkers made an appearance in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, before its servers shut down on December 15, 2011. The Darkwalkers were integrated into the game as a component of the "Legacy Quest," which was introduced with "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
