The Mummers were a criminal syndicate and an organization that engaged in terrorist activities. They operated on the planet Naboo during the time of the Galactic Civil War.
Taking their name from the mummergy plant, the Mummers initially functioned as bootleggers, focused on the illicit production and distribution of alcoholic drinks and spices. At some point, the group underwent a radical transformation, evolving into a terrorist organization.
It was also common knowledge that Mummers frequently resorted to using poisonous substances in their conflicts.
By the time the Battle of Yavin occurred, the RSF Intelligence Division considered the Mummers to be one of the four primary criminal organizations present on Naboo, alongside entities such as the Skaak Tippers, the Nal Raka Criminal Empire, and the Darkwalkers.
In the year 1 ABY, the Mummers perpetrated a terrorist attack within the capital city of Theed. In response to this act, their base was subjected to a raid conducted by troopers belonging to the Royal Naboo Security Forces, under the command of Sergeant Brunser. During the raid, the RSF troopers discovered a collection of biochemical weapons stored among the numerous illegal items that the Mummers had accumulated within their base. The bunker commander, Jaye Hawkson, along with the Mummer Chief Scientist, Crimsol Vaighn, were both killed during the assault.
Following these events, the Mummers continued their use of the bunker. The fugitive murderer Hunnos Jarkey briefly sought shelter there after managing to escape from the Royal Naboo Security Forces. Subsequently, Tanoa Vills sent a spacer to the Mummer Cave, located in the Gallo Mountains, with the intention of acquiring an XJ5 circuit board from the Mummer scientists.
Around that same period, Sergeant Eom Nia instructed a young cadet to launch an attack on the Mummer Cave as a component of his combat training to become an officer.
