Daws was a pilot of the human species, employed by Cyn's organization. Prior to his time with Cyn, Daws had been in the service of the Hutt Clan, even stating that he preferred working for them over Cyn. At some point between the years 19 BBY and 4 ABY, Daws participated in the ambush targeting Darth Vader that occurred on HS-197, an abandoned ore mining moon located in the Horox system. The leader of the crew, Cyn, had drawn Vader to the moon by mentioning the name of his father, Vig Sendvall. By using his cybernetics, Cyn was able to take advantage of a weak point in Vader's armor, which resulted in Vader's motor functions being disabled. Subsequently, the crew members restrained him to a table inside their chop shop, their plan being to disassemble the Sith Lord's armor and sell the pieces. Vader then began to use the Force to slaughter the people inside the chop shop. Because so many of them had been killed, Cyn decided to destroy the chop shop with Vader inside, as he was too dangerous to continue disassembling. Cyn then summoned Daws, who was piloting a shuttle, and instructed him to use the ship's laser cannons to obliterate the shop. Daws managed to fire a volley, but Vader used the Force to seize control of the shuttle and crash it into a group of crew members, resulting in Daws' death.
