Depatar was a clandestine spaceport for black-market activities and smuggler operations. It resided on a planet situated near the Lost Souls asteroid field within the Outer Rim Territories. Iden Versio, the commander of Inferno Squad, stated that this spaceport was the nearest one to the asteroid field, making it a crucial destination for starships requiring urgent maintenance after traversing the dangerous field. During the period between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, Inferno Squad engaged in a hunt to capture Beilert Valance, who had gained access to confidential Imperial information regarding the construction of a new Death Star. After Zuckuss advised the crew of bounty hunter T'onga to enter the Lost Souls on their ship the Edgehawk, after they rescued Valance from Darth Vader, Inferno Squad found it impossible to guide their ship, the Corvus, through the treacherous field. Versio proposed allowing them to proceed, as she was aware of the Depatar spaceport. She suggested going there, knowing the Edgehawk would be forced to seek repairs after being in the asteroid field. After Zuckuss successfully navigated the Edgehawk through the Lost Souls, T'onga suggested they visit the spaceport for repairs, unaware that Inferno Squad was already there waiting for them.
