Dhagon Ghent, a male Human, fought with the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders during the Mandalorian Wars. He served alongside Canderous Ordo, who would later become Mandalore. By 3951 BBY, Ghent had established himself as a doctor on the planet of Onderon. His private practice was conveniently located near the Iziz Cantina in the city of Iziz. In that same year, the Onderon military took him into custody following the murder of Captain Sullio, a longtime friend. The investigators, misunderstanding their dynamic, believed a heated argument was the motive. When Meetra Surik arrived in Iziz seeking the Jedi Masters who had exiled her, specifically Master Kavar, she uncovered evidence exonerating Ghent in Sullio's death. As thanks, Ghent facilitated a meeting between Surik and Kavar, the former Jedi Council member who advised Queen Talia both before and during the Onderon Civil War.
During the Mandalorian Wars, Dhagon Ghent participated in numerous battles alongside Canderous Ordo, who would later rise to the rank of Mandalore. Following the Mandalorians' decisive defeat at the Battle of Malachor V, Ghent shed his Mandalorian affiliations and relocated to the planet of Onderon. He established his residence in Iziz, the single walled city on that world. There, he pursued a career as a doctor, opening a private practice close to the Iziz Cantina in the Merchant Quarter. Prioritizing credits over patient care, he quickly developed a poor reputation as one of the city's least competent medical practitioners. Despite his professional shortcomings, he forged friendships with many citizens. Notable friends included Nikko, a pazaak player, and Riiken and Sullio, both captains in the Onderon military whose jurisdiction encompassed Ghent's practice. Ghent and Sullio, a female officer, often spent evenings drinking and engaging in lively debates. Shortly before General Vaklu's attempted coup d'état, Sullio was murdered in the market square, and Ghent was arrested as a suspect, even though he was meeting with Xaart, a Republic Republic diplomatic operative. The Onderonian military based their arrest on witness accounts of a heated argument between Ghent and Sullio, assuming it provided a motive. However, this was a misinterpretation of their relationship; despite their frequent disagreements, they were close friends, and their verbal sparring was often misunderstood.

Soon after, Meetra Surik, accompanied by Mandalore, arrived in Iziz with the goal of locating Jedi Master Kavar, who was in hiding. Ordo suggested that Ghent held the key to meeting the former Jedi Council member, as he had previously been a source of information and possessed the necessary political connections. Learning of Ghent's situation, they gathered evidence at the crime scene and interviewed patrons at the cantina, including Nikko, who explained Ghent and Sullio's relationship; Panar, a Beast Rider; Kiph, a slicer; and the Bith cantina owner, who provided general insights. Through Panar, Surik discovered S-0D3, a droid that witnessed Sullio's murder. The team recovered the droid's remains and took them to Kiph to extract its memories.
The investigation revealed that Ghent was not near the scene at the time of Sullio's death. Instead, he was meeting with Xaart, a Republic veteran of the Mandalorian Wars who had fought alongside Surik at the Battle of Dagary Minor. Xaart had been dispatched to Onderon to gather intelligence about the unfolding crisis in Iziz and the potential secession during the lead-up to the Onderon Civil War. Upon learning this, Mandalore expressed disapproval of Ghent's actions, as he was aiding the interests of their former enemy.
Using the collected evidence, they secured Ghent's release. In return, Ghent agreed to provide information about Kavar, who was advising and guarding Queen Talia. He stated that the information was on encrypted holodiscs in his office. Further, recognizing the escalating tensions on Onderon, Ghent offered to arrange a meeting between Surik and Kavar as a gesture of gratitude.
While Ghent was imprisoned, his clinic was looted by Bakkel's Bakkel Beast Riders. After his release, Ghent asked Surik to retrieve the stolen holodiscs so he could contact Kavar. Kavar, wanting to remain hidden due to the ongoing shadow campaign against the Jedi Order, required the covert contact information on the discs to arrange a meeting discreetly. After the discs were recovered, Ghent arranged a meeting between Surik and Kavar at the cantina. However, Colonel Tobin and his soldiers interrupted the meeting, attempting to capture or eliminate the Jedi. Kavar used the Force to stun Tobin's troops, allowing everyone to escape. Kavar returned to the Queen, while Surik fled to the spaceport and left the planet. Ghent, however, did not attend the meeting.
Ghent was a familiar figure in Iziz's Merchant Quarter, particularly at the Bith-owned cantina. Known for his cynical, witty, and sarcastic personality, he prioritized financial gain. He was often described as the worst doctor imaginable. He also had a reputation for heavy drinking and mock fights with Captain Sullio. Despite their close friendship, they were not romantically involved. Upon learning of her murder, Ghent displayed little more emotion than he would when losing a patient. He was uninterested in the bounty on Jedi and held no animosity towards them, but he found them interestingly cryptic, especially Kavar.
Obsidian Entertainment Obsidian Entertainment created Dhagon Ghent for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. His role is crucial for completing the game, as he provides the means to locate a lost Jedi Master as part of the main storyline. There is no alternate dark side storyline involving Ghent after the initial meeting with Kavar. Speaking to Xaart to confirm Ghent's alibi is optional.
The game spells Dhagon Ghent's name as both "Dhagon Ghent" and "Dhagon Gent." Both versions appear equally in the dialog.tlk file, making it unclear which is correct.
If Nikko is spoken to after the interrupted meeting, he will say he intends to warn Dhagon to flee Iziz, as Vaklu will soon realize Ghent arranged the meeting. It is likely that Dhagon left Onderon after your first visit.
