S-0D3-GE3

S-0D3-GE3 was a GE3-series protocol droid, an active unit during the period known as the Dark Wars within time. This droid belonged to a Bith male named Bahima, who worked as the bartender inside the cantina located in the city of Iziz on the planet of Onderon. Its function was to serve as a waiter inside this cantina. Shortly after Captain Sullio was murdered, S-0D3-GE3 stumbled upon the body and was subsequently destroyed by Sullio's murderer. During her investigation into Sullio's death, Meetra Surik, an exile from the Jedi Order, located the droid's head, hoping to exonerate Doctor Dhagon Ghent. With the assistance of Kiph, a Twi'lek patron of the cantina, Surik managed to retrieve a recording of the droid's final moments from its memory banks, which she then used to demonstrate Ghent's innocence.

Biography

During the Dark Wars, a time of conflict between the Galactic Republic and what remained of Revan's Sith Empire, S-0D3-GE3, a protocol droid, performed the duties of a waiter in the cantina situated in the city of Iziz on the planet Onderon. Bahima, a Bith male who served as the bartender of the cantina during this time, was his owner. S-0D3-GE3 was the third serving droid that Bahima had owned; the previous two had been wrecked by local criminals. While disposing of the cantina's trash, S-0D3-GE3 discovered the remains of Captain Sullio, an officer in the Onderonian military, soon after she had been murdered. S-0D3 was then shot and destroyed by her killer shortly after his discovery.

Dhagon Ghent, a doctor from the area, was apprehended for the crime that S-0D3 had witnessed. The ravaged remains of S-0D3 were abandoned at the scene, where scavengers picked over them, selling some parts to 1B-8D-GE3. 1B-8D, a droid owned by Tolas, a local merchant, traded in used droids and droid parts, readily acquiring S-0D3's components without concern for their origin. Following the destruction of S-0D3, Bahima replaced him with a much less capable human waitress, abandoning droid waiters altogether.

Later, Meetra Surik, a Jedi Order exile who came to Onderon in search of Jedi Master Kavar, started looking into the murder. With information obtained from Nikko, a local pazaak player and Ghent's friend, and Panar, a swoop racer and Beast Rider, she retrieved S-0D3's head from 1B-8D during her investigation. With the help of Kiph, a Twi'lek slicer and patron of the cantina, she was able to extract the droid's final moments from its memory core and used the recording to clear Dhagon Ghent of the crime.

Personality and traits

S-0D3-GE3 belonged to the GE3-series protocol droid line, a popular droid model produced by the Czerka Corporation. The GE3-series was programmed for social interaction and possessed extensive knowledge of the customs and history of various species in the galaxy, making S-0D3 well-suited as a waiter in the Iziz cantina. S-0D3's sensor color was blue-white, his chassis was silver and blue, and his memory core was located in his head. The droid's voice indicated that masculine programming had been installed. Despite his programming for social interaction, Panar, a patron of the cantina, did not find S-0D3 particularly enjoyable. S-0D3 was very careful with his work.

Behind the scenes

S-0D3-GE3 makes an appearance in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, a roleplaying video game that was developed by Obsidian Entertainment and released by LucasArts in 2004. He is briefly shown in a cutscene during the Onderon segment of the game as the player, in the role of the Jedi Exile, tries to prove that Dhagon Ghent is innocent of murdering a military officer. The game only lists the droid's name as "S-0D3," but the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide notes that all droids of his model have the suffix -GE3. Tom Kane provided the voice for S-0D3-GE3's only line in the game.
