She had been given to her by the crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure. She frequently went with Gardulla to various happenings, including the Boonta Eve Classic podrace in 32 BBY on the planet Tatooine.
The two watched the race from Jabba's personal box at the Mos Espa Grand Arena, alongside the crime lord and his associates. Once the race concluded, she and Gardulla departed the box, leaving behind Jabba, who had asleep.
Diva Funquita made her debut in the 1999 prequel trilogy movie, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, where she was played by George Lucas' daughter, Amanda Lucas, who is a director. Within current canon, Funquita's name was first revealed in the 2018 reference book titled Star Wars: Geektionary: The Galaxy from A - Z. The name initially appeared in the Star Wars Legends timeline, specifically in the 1999 reference book Star Wars: Episode I The Visual Dictionary, authored by David West Reynolds.
