Dressellians were a species of humanoid beings possessing sentience, originating from the world of Dressel. Until the Galactic Civil War disrupted their existence, they maintained a peaceful and secluded way of life, uninvolved in conflicts. This species displayed allegiance to the Galactic Republic, and its collapse led many Dressellians to enlist in the Rebel Alliance. Their physical characteristics included bald heads and wrinkled faces and skulls. A male Dressellian named Orrimaarko fought as a soldier within the Rebel Alliance throughout the Galactic Civil War.
After the Imperial Senate's dissolution, Mon Mothma, the Commander-in-Chief of the Rebel Alliance, recorded in a journal entry in the Rebel Files her belief that the Dressellians, alongside the Mon Cal and Sullustans, were particularly susceptible to harm, suggesting the Alliance should contemplate accepting refugees from these groups. She felt they were in danger.
Lokmarcha, a Dressellian who fought for the resistance, held the rank of major within the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. Just prior to the Battle of Endor, a number of other Dressellians were present at the Alliance briefing where the plan to assault the Galactic Empire's second Death Star was formulated.
