Ecressys held the position of governor for the Velcar sector under the Galactic Empire, and was a male. Following the Battle of Endor, he turned into a renegade warlord.
Ecressys, who masked his true nature as a cynic with a facade of unwavering patriotism, frequently voiced his grievances about the insufficient backing his sector received from the governing body located in the Core Worlds. This behavior led the Imperial Security Bureau to suspect him of being disloyal to Sheev Palpatine, the Emperor.
Following Palpatine's death at the Battle of Endor, Ecressys sought to bolster his own authority by disseminating false information that the emperor was still alive. He exerted strict control over all forms of communication within the Velcar sector and seceded from the Empire, establishing his own remnant faction and assuming the role of a warlord. To further this aim, he produced the propaganda poster titled Endor is A Lie. Subsequently, he became complacent in his newfound power, looting the treasuries of the planets under his control. By the time representatives of the New Republic reached the sector's primary world to proclaim the signing of the Galactic Concordance, Ecressys had already relinquished his governorship and escaped into the Western Reaches with the accumulated riches of numerous planets, fleeing from the New Republic.
