A naval force, operating under the authority of Vice Admiral Edmon Rampart of the Imperial Navy, existed in the initial period of the Imperial Era. This fleet was involved in the Imperial mission to extract all significant resources from Kamino, and subsequently destroyed key urban centers and infrastructure, notably Tipoca City. This fleet was composed of at least three Venator-class Star Destroyers, with Rampart's flagship, identified as VZ-114, being one of them. The clone navigation officers serving on Rampart's ships displayed the emblem of the Open Circle Fleet.
