A reconnaissance shuttle, modified from its original design, was utilized in the High Republic Era. This shuttle was owned by the Kessurian associates, specifically Esstrop and Kortanio. These individuals employed the shuttle while serving the Path of the Open Hand cult, spreading their doctrines throughout the Galactic Frontier before 382 BBY. Subsequent to the collapse of the cult, Marda Ro, an Evereni who founded the pirate group that would evolve into the Nihil, recruited them into her ranks. Consequently, they used the ship in pirate raids. Around 379 BBY or later, Ro dispatched the shuttle, along with other vessels, to encircle the ship of the Evereni twins Vika and Velya Faer while extending an invitation for the Faers to meet with her.
Later, Ro referenced this starship within a journal intended for her descendants. By 252 BBY, Marchion Ro, her great-great-grandson during his younger years, had absorbed her personal history through these journals, which included mentions of the shuttle.
The short story titled "A Closed Fist Has No Claws," penned by Tessa Gratton and featured in the 2023 young-adult collection The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life, part of the larger Star Wars: The High Republic project, includes a reference to the shuttle.
