During the High Republic Era, there existed a family of Evereni known as the Faers. This family included a female member alongside her grandchildren, named Vika and Velya Faer. At a point in time not before 379 BBY, Vika and Velya encountered Marda Ro, the pirate leader of Evereni, while she was on a hunt searching for other Evereni. While staying with Ro, Vika killed Alirya, the pirate's assistant, resulting in Ro shooting Vika in retaliation. Following this event, Ro successfully persuaded Vika's brother to join her. Ro later documented her interaction with the Faers in messages intended for her descendants, which her great-great-grandson Marchion Ro had listened to by 252 BBY.
The species named its families for actions, and the Faers were an Evereni family whose name, in their language, signified "to know." They possessed at least two ships. One ship served as a dwelling for several family members, no earlier than 379 BBY, while the other ship was owned by the twins Vika and Velya Faer.

During the High Republic Era, the Faers were active, with a female member maintaining a list of Evereni names that extended back to at least 500 BBY by a point no earlier than 379 BBY. By approximately 397 BBY, the family included at least two grandchildren, the siblings Vika and Velya Faer, who had been raised together. While the majority of the other six Faers, who were alive by the point no earlier than 379 BBY, resided together on a single ship, Vika and Velya had their own vessel.
Around that time, the siblings were intercepted by Marda Ro, an Evereni who founded a pirate group that would eventually evolve into the Nihil, while she was conducting a search for other Evereni. Subsequently, the two Faers encountered Ro in the throne hall of her ship, known as the Gaze Electric. Having grown up isolated from her people, Ro received insights from the siblings regarding the Evereni and their own family history. During the siblings' stay with Ro, her assistant, Alirya, attempted to kill Vika by stabbing her in the back with a dagger, intending to secure her position by Ro's side. Vika retaliated by killing Alirya, but Ro, in turn, shot Vika because of her action. Velya, enraged by his sister's demise, was calmed down by Ro, who then persuaded him to remain with her.
Later on, Ro recounted her encounter with the Faers in a recording intended for her descendants. By 252 BBY, during his younger years, Ro's great-great-grandson, Marchion Ro, had listened to her journal, including entries that mentioned the Faers. In 228 BBY, while listening to the journal again, Ro remembered that the journal's contents documented his great-great-grandmother's quest for Evereni, which included the Faer twins.

The Faers made an appearance in flashbacks within the short story "A Closed Fist Has No Claws," authored by Tessa Gratton and featured in the 2023 young-adult anthology titled The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life, which is part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project. In an interview, Gratton expressed frustration with the absence of naming conventions in Star Wars, which prompted her to establish a naming convention for the Evereni as one of the initial elements of the story she created.
Gratton's original concept involved Marda Ro encountering two Evereni, one rejecting her and the other embracing her. In the final version of the story, these characters evolved into the elder Evereni "Isren" and Velya Faer, respectively. However, during the story's development, she realized that it would be more compelling to have a pair of Evereni with a duality mirroring that of Ro and her cousin Yana Ro, leading to the creation of Vika Faer, a process she described as intricate.
