Fala was the offspring of Karak, the Sedrian bishop of war.
Karak, the bishop of war for the Priests of the Sun and later the head of his own dissident faction, was Fala's father. In her youth, Fala and Pek, the son of High Priest Cardo, were romantically involved. Fala was supportive of her father's conviction that Sedrian society and its connection to the Golden Sun needed significant changes. However, in contrast to her father, Fala genuinely held these beliefs and did not desire personal power. She had limited knowledge of Karak's broader schemes to gain control over Sedri.
When a team from the Alliance to Restore the Republic journeyed to the settlement in search of the missing diplomat, Mors Odrion, Fala met them with apprehension. The Alliance team successfully persuaded Fala that her father was colluding with the Galactic Empire, leading Fala and numerous other renegades to withdraw their support for Karak. During the Battle of Fitsay, Fala, Pek, and the Mon Calamari Rekara aided the Golden Sun's chosen champion in overcoming Karak and allowing the Golden Sun to illuminate all of Sedri. Following Cardo, Fala and Pek jointly became High Priest.
