Karak

Karak, the Sedrian bishop of war, was a male of his species. A blue armband, etched with a broken shell motif, adorned his person. Driven by a lust for power, he coveted the Golden Sun exclusively and commanded a band of renegades. Fala was his daughter, and Tooch was the name of his pet razort.

He aided the Galactic Empire in unleashing the Golden Sun and, through his actions, pilfered its energy, corrupting it to the dark side of the Force. This lasted until a group of Alliance agents shattered the Golden Sun and severed his connection to its power. Subsequently, he faced arrest and imprisonment for his treachery.

Biography

Karak hailed from the planet Sedri, his species being Sedrian. He resided in the city of Fitsay and was the father of Fala. Karak held the position of bishop of war, heading the warrior monks tasked with the defense of Sedri's cities and villages. Fueled by a desire to possess the Golden Sun's power, Karak began advocating for reform and freedom, asserting that the Golden Sun should be accessible to all Sedrians. At some point, Karak absconded with a fragment of the Golden Sun coral.

Karak's intention was to leverage the stolen coral's power to orchestrate a coup, deposing the priests, and he actively recruited followers to ignite a revolution. Upon discovering Karak's plot, Cardo, the High Priest of the Golden Sun, dispatched warrior monks to expel Karak and his followers from Fitsay. Karak then led his followers to establish a settlement located three hundred kilometers to the north of Fitsay.

As the renegades' leader, Karak was accompanied by six devoted followers who served as his bodyguards, along with his pet Razort, Tooch. He issued calls for all Sedrians to disavow the teachings of the Priests of the Sun and align with his cause.

Karak's followers apprehended two off-worlders: Mors Odrion, a Human dignitary, and Rekara, his Mon Calamari retainer. Karak employed his fragment of the Golden Sun to extract information from Odrion's mind, uncovering details about the Alliance, the Galactic Empire, and Odrion's mission to the planet. While Karak maintained a close watch on Odrion, Rekara, being largely unguarded, managed to escape, taking Karak's coral with her as she fled.

Karak planned to engage with the Galactic Empire, and Odrion's capture provided him with the necessary leverage for negotiation. Karak sought Imperial assistance for his scheme, willing to pay tribute as long as it aligned with his desired outcome. He intended to offer them a fifty-percent share in the Fitsay sun caves. With the Golden Sun's power, the Empire could conceal planets and fleets in the same manner that Sedri had remained isolated for centuries.

During the Imperial assault on Fitsay, Karak and his chosen bodyguards infiltrated the sun caves, aiming to seize the power of the Golden Sun. While his bodyguards impeded his pursuers—a team of Alliance to Restore the Republic agents joined by Pek and Karak's own daughter, Fala—Karak assumed control of the Golden Sun and acquired corrupted abilities. The Alliance team confronted Karak, with the Golden Sun selecting a champion from their ranks. The champion, alongside Pek, Fala, and Mon Calamari Rekara, triumphed over Karak and liberated the Golden Sun. Karak was stripped of his newfound powers and taken into custody. The newly appointed High Priests, Pek and Fala, resolved to ensure Karak's imprisonment for his transgressions.

Personality and traits

Karak stood out as one of Sedri's largest and most formidable Sedrians. He possessed a charismatic yet power-hungry nature, fixated on acquiring the Golden Sun's power for his personal gain. However, Karak exhibited hypocrisy by advocating for the Golden Sun's accessibility to all while secretly plotting to be its sole possessor. Karak held affection for both his daughter, Fala, and his pet razort, Tooch, though the extent of his love for each remained ambiguous.

Powers and abilities

Upon infiltrating the sun caves, Karak gained several powers that he stole from the Golden Sun. He could project sun beams directly from coral crystals, deflect and dissipate blaster bolts, and inflict pain on his adversaries. Karak also demonstrated the ability to control his pain and accelerate his own healing.

Equipment

Karak sported a blue armband with a broken shell pattern etched onto it. His arsenal included a spear gun, a sun gun, and a spear.
