The featherfern was a type of fern that naturally grew on a few mesas located on the grassy Outer Rim Territories planet of Bogano; it was native to this region. This fern was characterized by its leaves, which were largest at the bottom and progressively smaller towards the top of its single stem. Notably, it also featured purple flowers at the very top of the stem.
In 14 BBY, Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis journeyed to Bogano's Fractured Plain and collected a featherfern seed there. He cultivated this seed within a terrarium belonging to Greez Dritus, his comrade, on their luxury yacht, the Stinger Mantis. Kestis gathered diverse seeds from different planets as a way to compensate Dritus for his assistance during the Mantis crew's secret mission to rebuild the Jedi Order. By 9 BBY, after the crew disbanded, Dritus made his home in a cantina on the Koboh planet, where he transplanted the Featherfern into a container located in the cantina's cellar.
The featherfern was featured in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a video game created by Respawn Entertainment and released in 2019.
