Funerary stone

A funerary stone held significant symbolic weight within the cultural practices of Ferrix. These artifacts were constructed using the cremated remains of respected deceased inhabitants, such as members of the Daughters of Ferrix. These ashes were combined with mortar and native soil to create a durable brick. Subsequently, the deceased's name was etched onto the stone using Bazeese script, along with their birth and death times according to the C.R.C. calendar. Following the funeral service, the stone was embedded into a wall somewhere within the city. Prominent figures who underwent this "bricking" process, as it was known locally, included spouses Clem and Maarva Carassi Andor. During the events of 5 BBY, Maarva Andor's funerary stone was unexpectedly utilized as a weapon by the Grappler Brasso amidst a riot that erupted in the aftermath of her funeral.
