Eighth Fleet

The Eighth Fleet stood as one of the nine primary naval forces within the Navy of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances government. Its service occurred during the Second Galactic Civil War in 40 ABY. Its establishment followed the Alliance's triumph in the Yuuzhan Vong War in 30 ABY, and potentially even originated during the Corellian crisis.

Alongside the Seventh Fleet, the Eighth Fleet represented one of the two Hapan fleets integrated into the Galactic Alliance Navy.

During the Second Galactic Civil War, the Eighth Fleet was among the three fleets stationed at Crix Base within the Coruscant system, alongside the Third and Ninth Fleets. In this capacity, the Eighth Fleet seemingly acted as the main defensive force for the Galactic capital. The Third Fleet was initially deployed for maneuvers in the Outer Rim Territories and subsequently assigned to the blockade of Corellia, while the Ninth Fleet was a newly formed, mysterious command.

Ultimately, the Seventh and Eighth Fleets switched their allegiance, departing from the Galactic Alliance when the Hapes Consortium aligned with the Jedi Coalition. These fleets then participated in the Second Battle of Roche, fighting alongside the Alliance-in-exile, the Maw Irregular Fleet, and the Confederation fleets, while the Hapan Home Fleet remained within the Hapes Cluster.
