Gezlar, a Chagrian male serving as a guard, was employed by the Spice Runners of Kijimi. He was in attendance at the Kijimi summit, an event organized by the Spice Runner leader Zeva Bliss to assemble and execute a multitude of criminals. Poe Dameron, who had recently joined the gang, along with his droid companion EV-6B6, intervened to thwart Bliss's plan and save the criminals. Observing Dameron's intervention, Gezlar proceeded to destroy EV-6B6, mocking Dameron while intending to kill him. Nevertheless, Gezlar's attention was diverted by Bliss's fatal wounding of New Republic Security Bureau officer Sela Trune, allowing Dameron to utilize his blaster and fatally shoot the guard in the head.
