GNK-series power droid

The GNK-series power droid, more commonly recognized as the gonk droid, represented a widely distributed model of power droid produced by Industrial Automaton. Due to the distinctive "gonk" sound they emitted, they frequently earned the moniker of gonk droids. The Alliance to Restore the Republic implemented alterations to specific GNK units, repurposing them into mobile explosive devices. These modified droids were deployed onto the battlefield, slowly advancing until impact with an enemy structure triggered their detonation. They are frequently spotted around Tatooine, providing services on moisture farms and in spaceports such as Mos Eisley. Furthermore, gonk droids could serve as impromptu tables for board games or platforms for equipment like a payment dispenser.

Notable examples of GNK droids encompass 4B-EG-6, Gonky, Gonky belonging to Clone Force 99, and a gray GNK power droid present within Jabba's Palace around the time of 4 ABY. During this time, the droid emitted distressed squeals as 8D8, acting under the direction of its supervising droid EV-9D9, inflicted torture by applying a heated iron to the soles of its feet.
