Within the Galactic Republic's clone army during the Clone Wars, Green Company functioned as a unit of the 41st Elite Corps. The year 21 BBY saw the 41st Elite Corps assigned to transport Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray to the planet Coruscant. This transport occurred on the Venator-class Star Destroyer named Tranquility. However, while they were on their way to Coruscant, the Tranquility found itself attacked by forces from the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The goal of this assault was either to rescue the Viceroy or to execute him. Green Company was forced to fight off these invaders, which led to significant casualties among the clone trooper ranks.
Green Company, an infantry company of clone troopers, was a part of the Grand Army of the Republic's 41st Elite Corps. Jedi Master and General Luminara Unduli commanded the company, along with Clone Commander Gree. As a unit within the Republic army, the company was made up of 144 clone troopers, divided into four platoons.
The clone troopers of Green Company wore Phase I clone trooper armor, which featured the green markings specific to the 41st Elite Corps. They were equipped with both DC-15A blaster carbines and DC-15A blaster rifles. Green Company was stationed on the Venator-class Star Destroyer called Tranquility, where the company's troopers acted as part of the ship's crew and its passenger load.
Besides General Unduli and Commander Gree, Green Company also had a clone trooper known as Green Leader in a command role, as well as an unidentified Clone Captain.
Following the capture of the Separatist leader Nute Gunray on the planet Rodia, Green Company boarded the Tranquility to transport the high-value individual back to Coruscant. However, during this journey, their ship was ambushed by battle droid forces, along with the Sith apprentice Asajj Ventress, whose objective was to either liberate Gunray or eliminate him. The troopers of Green Company got ready to fight off the enemy, who came aboard using several dropships. However, a significant portion of the company, including Green Leader, was killed by the Separatist forces.
The initial appearance of Green Company was in "Cloak of Darkness," which was the ninth episode of the first season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television show. This episode was originally broadcast on December 5, 2008.
