Unidentified Clone Captain (Tranquility)

A Clone Captain was a human clone trooper officer serving the Grand Army of the Republic. This occurred during the Clone Wars, the conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance. Back in 21 BBY, this particular clone held the military rank of Clone Captain while stationed on the _Venator_-class Star Destroyer Tranquility, a component of Green Company. After the capture of Viceroy of the Trade Federation Nute Gunray, an ally of the Separatists, a skirmish erupted on the Tranquility as Separatist forces tried to either rescue the viceroy or eliminate him.

During the engagement, the captain took part in the skirmish. He and another clone trooper were assigned to secure the Star Destroyer's engine room. However, they failed to notice the presence of Separatist agent Asajj Ventress. After reporting to Clone Commander CC-1004, known as Gree, the captain and his fellow clone trooper proceeded to the [prison](/article/prison] level. This allowed Ventress the opportunity to sabotage the reactor of the vessel, causing disorientation among the crew. Ultimately, the skirmish concluded with the Separatists successfully rescuing Gunray.

Biography

Early life and service

The captain and a trooper enter the engine room.

This clone, a clone trooper officer within the Grand Army of the Republic, was created on the planet Kamino. His genetic source was the DNA of Jango Fett, a bounty hunter whose genetic code served as the template for the entire clone trooper army. This particular clone fought in the Clone Wars, the conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance, as a member of the Republic's Green Company within the 41st Elite Corps.

By 21 BBY, this clone had achieved the military rank of Clone Captain. He, along with the rest of his company, was stationed aboard the Tranquility, a Venator-class Star Destroyer which served as the flagship for Jedi General Luminara Unduli's fleet group.

Battle aboard the Tranquility

The Clone Captain encounters 327-T.

After Viceroy of the Trade Federation Nute Gunray, a member of the Executive Separatist Council, was captured on Rodia by Republic Senator Padmé Amidala and her allies, Green Company was tasked with retrieving the viceroy from the planet's surface and securing him on the Tranquility. During their journey, the Tranquility came under attack from Separatist Vulture droid starfighters and Droch-class boarding ships. Clone Commander CC-1004 "Gree", the commanding officer of the 41st Elite Corps, deployed Green Company into the main hangar to defend against the Separatist assault.

During the engagement, the captain, along with another clone trooper, moved to protect the engine room. Unbeknownst to them, Separatist agent Asajj Ventress had already infiltrated the ship and planted explosives. However, they did encounter 327-T, a WED-15 Treadwell droid who was inspecting the room before their arrival. While the two clones examined the room, the captain asked his comrade if he had seen anything unusual. The captain then contacted Commander Gree, reporting that the engine room appeared secure, and acknowledged Gree's instruction to proceed to the [prison](/article/prison] level, where the remaining Separatist forces were located.

The captain was ordered to the detention level, where clones fought to defend the prisoner.

The accompanying clone trooper then instructed 327-T to watch for intruders, addressing it as "327," which the droid objected to. The captain informed the trooper that droids disliked being called by shortened versions of their designations. With Ventress undetected, she was able to sabotage the reactor, crippling the Tranquility and disorienting Republic forces. By the end of the skirmish, Ventress had successfully rescued Gunray from the Republic's custody.

Personality and traits

The captain corrected their comrade on nicknaming droids.

Being a clone derived from the bounty hunter Jango Fett, the captain was a human with a height of 1.83 meters (6 feet), a weight of eighty kilograms, and tan skin. The Clone Captain understood that droids preferred to be addressed by their full designations rather than nicknames. Additionally, he felt confident enough to report the engine room as secure based on a visual inspection, without requiring a complete lockdown of the area.

Skills and abilities

Like all clone troopers, this clone received training in combat techniques.

Equipment

From the moment of their creation, like all other clone troopers, the Clone Captain received a behavioral modification biochip implanted by Kaminoan scientists. This chip was designed to ensure compliance with specific orders. As an officer within Green Company, the clone wore standard phase I clone trooper armor, distinguished by green unit markings identical to those on his fellow troopers' white armor. His primary weapon was a DC-15A blaster carbine.

Behind the scenes

The Clone Captain made his debut in "Cloak of Darkness," the ninth episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars' first season, which was initially broadcast on December 5, 2008. Dee Bradley Baker provided the voice for the captain, as he did for all clone troopers in the series.
