"Green Leader" served as the callsign for the clone trooper in command of Green Company. This unit of clone troopers was a part of the Grand Army of the Republic's 41st Elite Corps during the Clone Wars. During a Confederacy of Independent Systems operation to board the Venator-class Star Destroyer Tranquility to rescue Viceroy Nute Gunray, the Trade Federation's leader, from Republic captivity, he was stationed on the ship. His company was overwhelmed in the Tranquility's hangar during the battle while attempting to hold back B2-series super battle droids that were deployed from three Droch-class boarding ships, resulting in his death.
On Kamino, this clone was born as one of many clones of Jango Fett, a bounty hunter, created to fight for the Galactic Republic. This clone trooper fought for the Grand Army of the Republic's 41st Elite Corps early in the Clone Wars against the Separatist Alliance. He held the call sign "Green Leader" and was the commanding officer of Green Company. Nute Gunray, the Viceroy of the Trade Federation and a member of the Separatist Council, was captured on Rodia by Senator Padmé Amidala and her allies during this time. Green Company was dispatched to retrieve Viceroy Gunray and take him to the Tranquility flagship so that he could be transported to Coruscant for interrogation regarding Separatist intelligence.
Jedi General Luminara Unduli and Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano were interrogating Gunray in the starship's brig when vulture droid starfighters and Droch-class boarding ships attacked the Tranquility. Clone Commander CC-1004 "Gree" ordered Green Company to defend against the Separatist forces. Green Leader and his troops immediately went to the main hangar. B2-series super battle droids emerged from the boarding ships and into the hangar, engaging the Republic forces led by Green Leader.
Green Leader contacted Commander Gree to update him on the attack as the battle progressed. After Separatist forces broke through and defeated the clone troopers, Green Leader sought refuge behind a crate. He cautioned Commander Gree that the droids were advancing towards the prison level and that reinforcements were required. A super battle droid, however, discovered Green Leader and killed him with multiple blaster shots. Although the super battle droids were eventually stopped, Asajj Ventress and Faro Argyus, a traitor to the Senate Guard, were able to free Gunray.
Green Leader, a clone of Jango Fett, stood at 1.83 meters tall and possessed black hair, brown eyes, and tan skin. Despite being outnumbered, Green Leader managed to conceal himself until he needed to inform Commander Gree about the Separatist advance towards the detention level, a choice that ultimately resulted in his demise.
As a clone trooper officer, Green Leader donned standard phase I clone trooper armor adorned with the green markings of Green Company, without any unique customizations or additional gear. He carried a DC-15A blaster carbine during combat.
The character "Green Leader" made his debut in "Cloak of Darkness," the ninth episode of the animated TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' first season. Dee Bradley Baker provided the voice for him, as he did for all clone troopers in the show.
