Grees, a Squib, collaborated with Sligh and Emala to create the infamous group known as the Directors. Initially, they accrued wealth by peddling gathered intelligence to the New Republic Intelligence. However, a new opportunity arose on Tatooine. In 8 ABY, the Squibs offered their questionable "assistance" to Han and Leia Solo during their conflicts on Tatooine, as they sought the moss painting titled Killik Twilight. Recognizing the potential for greater profits, they shifted their focus to selling information to the Imperial Remnant, eventually establishing Second Mistake Enterprises.
Following his survival of the Yuuzhan Vong War, he, along with Sligh and Emala, engaged in war profiteering during the Killik-Chiss Swarm War. After the Solos sabotaged their operations, they placed bounties on the heads of each member of the Solo family.
Operating from Tatooine, the trio furnished information to the New Republic Intelligence (NRI). Grees joined Leia Organa Solo and her husband, Han Solo, on Tatooine, in an endeavor to apprehend a small group of Imperials searching for the Killik Twilight. Following their misadventure with the Solos, the Squibs determined that dealing art to the Imperials would yield them both riches and insights into the secretive Imperial Remnant. In league with the Invisible Shell, they did nothing to dispel the NRI's belief that Ludlo Lebauer was the one supplying the artworks to the Empire, as it served as a useful diversion for their own activities. Grees, however, succumbed to greed and compromised their scapegoat by becoming his captive. Frozen in carbonite, Emala and Sligh once again manipulated the Solos into assisting them. Arranging a rendezvous through their NRI contacts, the Squibs and the Solos convened on Pavo Prime and agreed to collaborate in order to retrieve Grees and ten Alderaanian boasas. With the mission successfully completed, the Directors promptly escaped to the Outer Rim.
After the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, the group founded a new enterprise called Second Mistake Enterprises. Hired by the Colony to transport spinglass sculptures throughout the galaxy, they inadvertently facilitated the near-catastrophic infiltration of Galactic Alliance capital ships by Gorog assassins. Following a reprimand, the Directors orchestrated several unsuccessful assassination attempts against Han, Leia, and Jaina Solo.
