The guarlara were a species of four-legged creatures native to the world of Naboo; they were non-sentient animals.
These creatures possessed a muscular build, stood on four legs, and featured a long snout, erect ears, a hairy tail, and cloven feet, along with a pair of curved horns. As herbivores, they consumed plant life.
Guarlara were native to the grassy plains of Naboo, a small, idyllic planet situated within the Chommell sector of the galaxy's Mid Rim. The human population of Naboo employed them as ceremonial mounts, a practice depicted in a painting displayed within the Naboo Royal Palace.
In Theed, the Naboo's capital city, statues representing guarlara adorned the second archway nearest to the Palace Plaza. When Queen Amidala donned her Senate gown, her escoffiate headdress incorporated a wig designed to mimic the horns of a guarlara.
During the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic's fleet included a Venator-class Star Destroyer named Guarlara.
The guarlara made their debut as statues in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. Within Star Wars Legends materials, they were portrayed as royal mounts exclusively used by the Naboo monarchy.
