The spouse of Handon Guld, a male Human, resided with him on the agrarian planet of Dantooine, situated in the Outer Rim, throughout the Jedi Civil War that pitted the Galactic Republic against the Sith Empire. Back in 3956 BBY, she engaged in an affair with Calder Nettic, another colonist. Her husband suspected this, eventually discovering it, which led to their divorce.
Nettic's former business associate, Rickard Lusoff, and Guld both made independent plans to murder Nettic. Two days later, they pursued Nettic through the Ancient Grove on Dantooine. Guld used a blaster to kill Nettic, but Lusoff also fired his weapon, inadvertently striking Guld. Bolook, a Jedi Knight, along with Revan, a former Sith Lord who was suffering from amnesia and undergoing retraining as a Jedi, investigated the killing. During the investigation, Guld admitted he knew about his wife's unfaithfulness. Both individuals were then taken into custody and transported to the nearby Jedi Enclave.
The wife of Handon Guld was first referenced in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, a video game created by BioWare and released in 2003. This reference occurs in dialogue during the optional "Murdered Settler" side quest, which does not affect the player's alignment. If the player walks past a small bridge located within the Ancient Grove on Dantooine, the quest will always begin with a cutscene. While the quest can be rejected or abandoned, The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia verifies that both men were apprehended, implying that the quest was completed canonically. Canderous Ordo, a Mandalorian, will comment on Guld's wife's affair if he is present in the player's party when Guld discusses it with Revan, placing the blame on Guld for his inability to keep her faithful.
