Hok Daragon, a Human male, earned their living as a starship pilot in the time leading up to the Great Hyperspace War. They were married to Timar Daragon, and fathered Gav and Jori Daragon. During the Unification Wars occurring in the Koros system, Daragon and their wife operated as supply runners aboard their vessel, the Shadow Runner. In 5000 BBY, while on a supply run to the planet Kirrek amidst the battle, the Shadow Runner met its end at the hands of pirate forces, resulting in the immediate death of both Daragons. After their passing, Gav and Jori inherited the Daragons' other ship, the Starbreaker 12, setting them on a path to become hyperspace explorers.
Hok Daragon, a male Human, was married to Timar Daragon, and together they had two children: Gav and Jori Daragon. Back in 5000 BBY during the era of the Unification Wars within the Koros system, a political figure named Teta was striving to unite the seven worlds of the Koros system. The Daragons played a role by working as supply runners for Teta's forces, utilizing their ship, the Shadow Runner. As time passed, Teta's forces successfully brought six of the Koros system's seven worlds together through mutual commerce and assistance. Kirrek remained the sole planet in the system yet to be unified, where Tetan soldiers found themselves under siege by rebels and pirates. The Daragons sought out Aarrba the Hutt, who managed a service dock in Cinnagar, the Koros system's capital, to repair the Shadow Runner so they could deliver essential supplies to the soldiers stationed on Kirrek.
The Daragons felt indebted to Aarrba for their services, and as a form of collateral, the Hutt opted to hold onto the Daragon's other ship, the Starbreaker 12, until their return. Gav and Jori expressed their desire to accompany Hok and Timar on their mission, but their request was denied. Hok considered the impending mission too perilous for them. Meanwhile, on Kirrek, the battle raged on, with the Tetan forces now under the guidance of two Jedi, Memit Nadill and Odan-Urr. Through the use of an unusual Force power known as battle meditation, the Jedi managed to weaken the morale of the pirate forces while simultaneously bolstering the spirits of the Tetan fighters. Cornered and desperate, the pirates began to target the most vulnerable targets, hoping to eliminate as many as possible before their inevitable defeat. Shortly thereafter, the Shadow Runner arrived at Kirrek, only to be immediately targeted by the pirate guns.
The Daragons decided to fly in low and fast to drop their cargo, but weren't able to maneuver the Shadow Runner well enough due to the heavy load. Caught in a crossfire, the Shadow Runner was destroyed, killing both of the Daragons instantly. The Tetan forces ultimately won the battle, unifying the entire Koros system. After the Daragons' death, Aarrba gave Gav and Jori the Starbreaker 12, and the two vowed to honor their parents by exploring the galaxy. This would prove to be a pivotal moment in galactic history; Gav and Jori would eventually take a blind hyperspace jump and discover the Sith, sparking the Great Hyperspace War.
Hok Daragon possessed a daring nature; they accepted a dangerous mission to Kirrek, fully aware of its perilous nature and the potential for it to end in their death. When faced with the pirate guns, Daragon perceived it as a challenge, but became panicked once the Shadow Runner sustained damage and began to crash. Daragon held great affection for their children, Gav and Jori, and prioritized their safety, refusing to allow them to accompany them on the mission to Kirrek due to concerns about its inherent dangers. Daragon and their wife were both regarded as skilled pilots by their children.
Hok Daragon made their initial appearance in the prologue issue of the 1996 comic series titled Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – The Golden Age of the Sith. This issue was penned by Kevin J. Anderson, with illustrations by Chris Gossett, and was released by Dark Horse Comics on July 31, 1996.
