Homon

Homon was a celestial body situated within the Mid Rim, notable for housing a flight academy that provided training to members of an organized insurgency opposing the Galactic Empire under the clandestine leadership of Senator Mon Mothma. In communication with fellow rebel General Jan Dodonna, Commander Jun Sato posited that the RZ-1T trainer could prove beneficial to the flight schools located on both Homon and the planet Farstey.

Description

Homon existed as a land-based astronomical object, found within the Mid Rim Territories.

History

Jun Sato suggested RZ-1T trainers could be utilized by Homon and Farstey.

During the Imperial Era when the Galactic Empire held sway, Homon served as the location of a flight academy for an organized insurgency against the Empire, secretly directed by Senator Mon Mothma. Sometime between 4 BBY and 3 BBY, rebel Commander Jun Sato corresponded with General Jan Dodonna, explaining that he had found the RZ-1T trainer valuable in certifying bush pilots for A-wing starfighters. Sato further stated that the flight schools situated on Homon and the planet Farstey could benefit from having access to these training craft models, should they be available.

In 2 BBY, a galactic map was created for Mothma, highlighting the rebellion's safe worlds, starfighter hubs rated level five or higher, operational headquarters, shadow planets, and hidden deep space supply caches. Homon was identified on the map as one of three starfighter hubs with a level five rating or higher, alongside Farstey and the planet Tierfon. Eventually, both the map and Sato's message to Dodonna were collected by archivist Hendri Underholt and incorporated into the archive of non-electronic documents known as The Rebel Files.

Behind the scenes

Homon was referenced within current Star Wars canon in the 2017 reference book and boxed set titled Star Wars: The Rebel Files, authored by Daniel Wallace. Originally appearing in the Star Wars Legends continuity, the planet Homon was initially mentioned in "Extract of Minutes from the 251st Meeting of the Alliance High Command," a brief supplemental story included in The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook. Penned by Paul Murphy, the book was released in 1990 as part of West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.
