The House Alde of Alderaan, a noble family with strong ties to the Galactic Republic, maintained an embassy on the grounds of the House Organa estate, which served as the ancestral home of their allies, the House of Organa, also located on Alderaan. This was during the tense period of the Cold War between the Republic and the rival Sith Empire. Tragedy struck in 3643 BBY when Aleyna Hark, an Imperial spy, managed to infiltrate the embassy. She surreptitiously tagged Count Alde with a targeting device linked to the Death Mark laser, an orbital weapons satellite positioned in orbit around Alderaan. The Death Mark's powerful laser was then activated, killing the Count instantly while he was still within the embassy building. Following the Count's untimely demise, the embassy guards promptly sealed off the building from public access.
Situated on the western portion of Castle Organa, the family seat of House Organa on the planet of Alderaan, was a building utilized by the House Alde, a noble family of Alderaanian descent, as their embassy, given their alliance with the House of Organa. Inside, a winding hallway with several turns connected the entrance to the main conference room, a spacious circular area furnished with tables and chairs designed for diplomatic discussions. Reflecting typical Alderaanian architecture, the embassy featured prominent statues, tan-colored flooring, and a distinctive color palette dominated by crimson and gold hues. Security for the embassy was provided by guards under the command of Captain Yils, and also by Count Alde himself, who oversaw activities during his visits to Castle Organa.

The year 3643 BBY saw the Cold War raging between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. During this time, Count Alde was present at the embassy when Aleyna Hark, a Mirialan claiming to be the sole survivor of an attack on the Mensaav Laboratory – a Republic facility funded by Alde and dedicated to developing the Death Mark laser weapon – arrived. Shortly after, a young Jedi Knight, dispatched to secure the Death Mark laser technology, joined Count Alde. However, Hark, secretly an Imperial spy, seized the opportunity to mark the Count with the Death Mark's targeting beacon. While they were conversing, Nefarid, a Sith Lord, activated the Death Mark satellite that was in orbit above Alderaan, unleashing a laser strike that instantly killed Count Alde. Captain Yils and his security team rushed into the conference room to discover the Count lifeless, with Hark, the Jedi, and the Knight's companion sprawled on the floor.
Ignoring their attempts to explain the situation, Yils immediately ordered his guards to apprehend the three individuals for the Count's murder. However, the Knight managed to persuade Yils to let them leave, either through the use of the Force or by Hark offering to remain in custody until the Knight came back. Following the Knight's departure, Yils and his team closed the embassy, restricting all public access.
The Alde embassy made its debut in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game from 2011 developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts. It served as a class-specific location for the Jedi Knight class mission titled "The Death Mark." Players have the choice of fighting Yils, which grants dark side alignment points, or convincing him to release the Knight, which awards light side points. Given that Republic characters, such as the Jedi Knight, are generally assumed to pursue light side options, this article operates under the assumption that the Knight departed without engaging in combat with the guards.
