Huulik's lightsaber

Huulik's lightsaber was a lightsaber that projected a amethyst-colored blade, and it belonged to Huulik, a Rodian Jedi Knight who fought in the Clone Wars. Following his death after the implementation of Order 66, the lightsaber was interred alongside its owner within an unmarked mausoleum situated on Rodia. Nearly two decades passed before Taneetch Soonta, the niece of the deceased Rodian, recovered the lightsaber from Huulik's resting place and presented it to Luke Skywalker, who was training to become a Jedi. Sadly, the lightsaber's new owner inadvertently broke it while attempting to disassemble it.

Description

The lightsaber that once belonged to Huulik, a Jedi Knight, was specifically manufactured for a Rodian's grip, which meant it was rather awkward for a human to hold. The hilt of the weapon was coated in a matte-black material. Inside, a series of kyber crystals worked together to generate a brilliant amethyst plasma blade.

History

His amethyst-bladed lightsaber was in the possession of Huulik as early as the conclusion of the Clone Wars, which was approximately 19 years prior to the Battle of Yavin. When Palpatine, the Supreme Chancellor who led the Galactic Republic, betrayed the Jedi Order and gave the order for their execution, Huulik was struck down by blaster fire from clone troopers. Although he succeeded in plotting a course to his homeworld of Rodia, he perished during the journey. His family entombed him in the jungle, and they decided to bury his lightsaber with him, unsure of what else to do with it.

Almost twenty years later, amidst the Galactic Civil War, [Taneetch Soonta](/article/taneetch_soonta], Huulik's niece, accompanied Luke Skywalker, a Rebel agent, to the tomb. She gifted the aspiring Jedi with the lightsaber, mentioning that it was useless locked away. Soon after acquiring the weapon, Skywalker used it, along with his own, to behead a hostile ghest that had destroyed one of the speeder bikes they had used to arrive before entering the mausoleum. Following this encounter, Skywalker took the lightsaber to a workbench in his room in Toopil and disassembled it, hoping to gain a deeper understanding of its internal mechanisms.

Regrettably, the would-be Jedi accidentally shifted the crystals of kyber within the weapon, rendering it inoperable. Skywalker requested that R2-D2, his R2 series astromech droid, capture holo images of the device as he worked on it for future examination. He then put the components into a small bag after Laneet Chekkoo interrupted him, warning that the Empire had issued a planetwide alert for his ship, the Desert Jewel.
