HV-7s were a type of loader droid that operated at a shipyard on Corellia alongside CCLs and IW-37 pincer loader droids. This planet's yard was once under the control of Nightsister Morgan Elsbeth during the Galactic Empire's reign, but the New Republic seized control around 9 ABY.
However, Elsbeth secretly continued to use the facility, prompting an investigation by New Republic General Hera Syndulla and former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano. During this investigation, Tano inquired with Regional Supervisor Myn Weaver about the droids employed there, and Weaver referenced the HV-7s among others. After Elsbeth's clandestine use of the shipyard was then uncovered, the New Republic arrested many of the staff.
Within Star Wars canon, HV-7s are referenced in "Part Two: Toil and Trouble," the second episode of the television series Ahsoka, which debuted on Disney+ on August 22, 2023. These droids initially appeared in the Star Wars Legends continuity, specifically in the Legacy Era Campaign Guide, a 2009 supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game published by Wizards of the Coast.
