In approximately 382 BBY, during the period known as the High Republic Era, the Rod of Seasons, a Force artifact, was taken without permission from this treasury by individuals belonging to the Children, who were operatives working for the Path of the Open Hand cult. Later, Treze, a member of that group, drew a comparison between the security measures of the Royal Treasury and those of the Graf family compound on Thelj, expressing the opinion that their forthcoming job at the compound would present a significantly easier challenge. During the Imperial Era, Zel Gris from Livno III perpetrated the theft of the Solstice Globe from the treasury, motivated by a desire to return it to her homeworld, believing it rightfully belonged there.
The initial mention of the Hynestian Royal Treasury occurred in the junior novel Lando's Luck, which was published in 2018 and authored by Justina Ireland as part of the Flight of the Falcon media initiative. It was formally identified as the Hynestian Royal Treasury in the young-adult novel The High Republic: Path of Deceit, released in 2022 and co-written by Ireland and Tessa Gratton for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.
